Are There Any Pointers for First Time Renters?

Upon getting launched you MUST go slow in all no wake areas (this will be marked with buoys that are white with a 🚫 symbol)

The most important guidelines we like to shout from the rooftops are these:

First things first — stay away from the shorelines! Seriously, don’t beach the boat or cruise too close to the edges. Why? Because Lake Pleasant isn’t so pleasant when it comes to the shoreline. It’s full of rocky, jagged surprises just waiting to mess up your day (and your boat).

Next up, steer clear of other watercraft — especially jet skis. Yep, even the zippy ones. If you’ve rented a jet ski through one of our awesome partner companies, no worries — they’ll go over all the do’s and don’ts with you, too. But just so you know, a lot of damage happens when jet ski riders get a little too close to the boat.

Now here’s the real kicker: most of the worst (and most expensive) damage happens when boats are beached, bump into the shore, or drift into rocky edges. Yikes!

So let’s keep it simple:

🚫 STAY AWAY FROM THE SHORES 🚫

Your security deposit will thank you!

Can I Bring Food & Drinks on the Boat?

Absolutely! You're welcome to bring snacks — just please steer clear of the usual suspects: Things like Chocolate or Cheetos, or anything else that melts, smears, or leaves behind orange fingerprints worthy of a crime scene investigation.

These kinds of snacks have a special talent for causing permanent stains, which can lead to extra cleaning fees — and nobody wants that. Our advice? When in doubt, leave the melty, messy munchies at home and opt for boat-friendly bites instead. Your future self (and our upholstery) will thank you!

Additionally, we do no allow grills on our boats.

What Add On Toys Do You Offer?

Two-Person Tubes Our lay-down style tubes are perfect for some splashy fun behind the boat. Each rental includes an attachment rope.

    Please note:
  • Only one tube per boat
  • Two riders max per tube
  • Don’t exceed the weight limit — overloading can cause the boat to drag (and no one wants that kind of workout)

AquaMats – The Floating Chill Zone Our 6' x 16' AquaMats are soft, floating islands that let you relax right on the water’s surface — perfect for sunbathing, lounging, or staging your next cannonball.

Mission Mats – Firm, Fun, and Floaty Want something a little sturdier? Our Mission Mats are inflatable, rigid mats measuring 6.5' x 13'. They're great for the same kind of hangout fun, with a little extra support.

Add-ons are limited, so let us know early if you’d like to include one in your reservation!

Can I Bring My Own Tube?

Yes, but no larger than a 2 person size tube may be pulled behind any boat

Do You Rent Coolers?

Yes, cooler rentals are available! Perfect for out-of-town guests or locals who don’t have one handy. Want to add a cooler to your reservation? CONTACT US and we’ll get you set up!

Because warm drinks on a hot day? No thanks!

Do You Supply Life Vests?

Yes, we provided life vests for all sizes. When making your reservation, it is important to please note any children you will have on board, including infants.

This helps us to have the correct sizes ready for your rental as children's sizes vary by age/weight.

What Happens if I Damage the Boat?

Be Honest About It

We get it — accidents happen. Boats are big, water is wet, and sometimes a prop meets a rock it shouldn’t have. If anything goes wrong during your rental, just be honest and up front with us.

If it’s a major issue, call us right away at 623-302-4202 so we can walk you through next steps. Minor damage? We’ll take a look when you return.

And heads up — our staff knows boats like detectives know crime scenes. If you hit the prop, tore the upholstery, or smashed a toon… yeah, we’ll notice.

Not reporting damage can delay the return of your security deposit, and we reserve the right to hold your deposit until a full assessment is made. Serious damage may affect future rentals and income thus you will charged for those losses, so honesty truly is the best policy so that we can work with you on costly repairs

Bottom line: We’re respectful, fair, and reasonable — just treat our boats, staff, and business the same way, and we’ll always work with you.

Can We Have More Guests Than Capacity Listed?

Heads Up: The Boat’s Not a Clown Car According to Coast Guard regulations (and plain old common sense), you may NOT exceed the maximum number of passengers allowed on your boat. That number includes everyone — yes, even babies and toddlers who look small enough to ride in a backpack.

We cannot and will not launch any boat that's over capacity. Safety first. Always.

Trying to sneak extra people on after launch? Bad idea. We’ll have to end your rental early, and your security deposit will vanish faster than a Cheeto in a preschool snack pile.

Help us keep things safe, smooth, and fun — no stowaways, please!

Do You Allow Pets?

Paws and Claws on Board — For a $50 Pet Fee We’re all about letting your fur-ever friends join the fun — just a $50 pet fee, and they’re welcome aboard! But remember, to keep things “purr-fect,” please scoop the poop and clean up after your pets. We don’t want any “ruff” stains or “paw-sible” damage to the boat. If any damage does occur, we’ll have to “fetch” the costs from your security deposit.

Let’s keep the boat shipshape so every trip is “paws-itively” awesome for everyone!

Do We Pay For Fuel?

Just like a rental car, you’re responsible for the fuel you use during your time on the water. There are convenient gas stations with helpful dock attendants at Scorpion Bay and Pleasant Harbor Marinas to assist with refueling.

Please make sure to refuel the boat before your rental ends. If you don’t, a $50 refuel fee will be added to your bill — plus the cost of the fuel itself.

Refuel and relax — it’s that simple!

Do I Need a Special License?

Good news — Arizona doesn’t require a special boating license to captain one of our boats. So no need to hit the books or take a test (phew!). But — and this is important — you do need a valid driver’s license. Basically, if you can legally drive a car, you can legally drive a boat.

Oh, and you’ve got to be 21 or older to take the helm. No exceptions — no matter how charming your puppy eyes are!

Are You Handicap Accessible?

Yes! In most cases, we’re happy to accommodate our guests’ needs. Just CONTACT US at 623-302-4202 to discuss the details and make arrangements for your rental.

We’re here to help make your experience smooth and enjoyable!

Do You Have Captains?

When looking into how to rent a boat, many guests don't want the responsibility of driving. We’ve got you covered with captain services—just book in advance! Our captains charge $40 an hour, paid directly to the driver (because even captains like a little treasure). So, if you’d rather be sipping a drink than steering the boat, give us a call CONTACT US at 623-302-4202 and reserve your rental with a captain.

Sit back, relax, and let someone else do the driving — no pirate hat required!

Are There Restaurants at the Lake?

Guests are always asking when how to rent a boa at Lake Pleasant if there are also options for restaurants. When it’s time to refuel yourself, there are several great dining options right at the marinas. Check out Dillon’s Bayou at Pleasant Harbor Marina or Scorpion Bay Grill over at Scorpion Bay.

Good food, great views, and zero cooking required!

Do You Allow Overnight Stays?

For liability reasons, boats cannot be rented out past 6:30 PM. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping everyone safe.

Is There a Beach Area at the Lake?

Lake Pleasant Shorelines: Not Your Typical Sandbox

Forget sandy beaches—Lake Pleasant’s shorelines are more like nature’s version of a rocky obstacle course, full of sharp, jagged edges.

So, please don’t even think about beaching the boat. It’s like trying to park your car on a bed of nails—major structural damage guaranteed.

Keep the boat afloat and the rocks unbothered, and everyone wins!

Is There Camping at Lake Pleasant?

When researching how to rent a boat at Lake Pleasant, many guests ask about other activities in the area. Looking for more fun stuff to do in Phoenix? How about camping around Lake Pleasant — it’s like a sleepover with nature, minus the awkward teenage years! Just give Lake Pleasant Regional Park a call to reserve your spot or get more info.

Pro tip: Don’t forget the marshmallows… and maybe some earplugs for those midnight critters!
